when A and i got bumped on that flight over spring break, they compensated us with a free roundtrip (subject to blackout dates, etc etc) with airtran and though it’s the worst airline in all of existence, it meant i could go see jessie, which i’ve been meaning to do since she moved out there but have just been too poor to do :D

sometimes i find reading bad fic relaxing though idk man maybe i’ve just adapted

no, i definitely know what you mean, super trope-y fic is really mindless and soothing - i think the issue for me was that i was specifically hunting ao3 for really good fic, like i had my little filter settings all set up, and this one SOUNDED good and then it just wasn’t

@maria - haha, i think we must all do it? or at least, those of us who never developed a study style earlier. no one ever told me how to do this!!!!

@allegra - that’s a good one! i’m definitely more visual than auditory, but fairly split on those two with a bit of kinesthetic thrown in - the writing it down method is one i’ve found to be most helpful, especially if i give myself time and highlight and color code as well. it’s the combination of seeing it and doing it, i think that helps. but in high school i pretty much relied on the “i heard it, therefore i learned it” model and i did okay.

if i need angst it’s usually like a highly specific circumstance/situation wherein i seek out that specific like trope/scene or whatever and then sob my little eyes out - or angst along the way to a happy ending is AWESOME and i enjoy that a lot

man that’s what i do for school!!! but i don’t think the airline is going to accept that - and i’m attempting to be the least bit organized by this so at least i know what i bring with me. sigh.
