sometimes i think you should have to fill out an application to be in fandom and if you’re assholish you’re not allowed in and then i realize that would be a terrible idea

oh god the poor person who would have to go through those applications and approve/deny them

i’ve pretty much decided that the only way to fix fandom being sucky is for me to rule everything and just decide what’s allowed and what’s not

okay so there’s a core group i always recommend at my follow fridays and stuff, and honestly i’d recommend every person i follow but i tried to narrow it down to either newer people i’ve started following or people i follow for a whole mess of reasons.

1. shiphassailed aka grace, i pretty much trust grace’s opinion on nearly everything. not only is she intensely funny and charismatic and legitimately fantastic to follow, she’s also really well versed on a lot of things i care about very much and gives great advice. she’s basically one of the best people i’ve met via this site.

2. showemthejerseyslip aka alexis, well alexis and i are soulmates on the deepest level of both despising and adoring hawaii five 0. it’s a rough relationship peppered with agonizing moments of perfect homoeroticism and indescribable feelings when confronted by proof that our boys are so utterly gay for each other and yet, no pay off - but it’s worth it because she’s awesome and hysterical and completely freaking brilliant.

3. weepingrockrock aka rah, who creates the most beautiful art in the entire freaking world and i’m at a loss to even describe how much i love it or how sweet or awesome rah is. generous and lovely and fantastic and basically everyone should follow rah.

4. clayblahblah aka clay & blah, collectively i feel like clay and blah like all the things i like and they are both insanely talented at creating beautiful things. and when i say beautiful i don’t mean just like pretty, i mean hauntingly beautiful or intensely wonderful or fantastic beyond all belief. they are both intensely awesome.

5. wickedpencils aka franchesca, i feel like i’ve followed franchesca since the beginning of time but it can’t have been that long. but basically she’s one of those people who watches all the coolest stuff and reads all the best stuff and adds good commentary to posts that need commentary and is funny and interesting and kind and invested in your well being and just generally a fantastic and awesome person.

also i’m really bad at following rules

6. acerulean aka allegra, basically a beautiful human being who loves fantastic things and blogs thoughtfully about the things that i am most passionate about. she’s brilliant and an incredible artist and generally hysterically funny about all things. she also ships nuke which makes her perfect.
