Injury update: Iker Casillas is expected to have surgery on his left hand Friday morning. Some sources expect a 6-8 week recovery.
Alfonso del Corral, head of the club’s medical services, reportedly made the following statement: “Less than two months is difficult. A football goalkeeper must be able to fall on his hand and face shots at more than 100 kilometres per hour. He must let his hands strengthen without any type of risk.” A two-month spell would make him unavailable until after Real Madrid plays Mallorca the weekend ending March 17.
