hahahah aksdlajdf OH BABE SO MUCH the first episode was released as an award on the battle for nuceria game website thing! head over there and either login if you’re already a member or sign up, and then head to the rewards section for ‘mission 6’ and hit play! some people have been having issues with the player, so try refreshing if it doesn’t work for you right off the bat.

yaaaaaaaaaaay i’m excited that you’re excited! i have always considered doing a sentinel!nuke fic but it seemed so ~niche that i was pretty sure no one would ever read it BUT it applies itself so perfectly to nagron and i am super stoked to be writing it especially knowing that there are people who want to read it! and ugh omg you and me both re: soulmate stuff LIKE I CANNOT RESIST EVER, it is a genuine character flaw, haha.
The Sentinel is a TV show which I have actually never watched! But what I gather from reading ridiculous amounts of fic of it, it’s about these two dudes, one’s a cop and one’s an anthropologist (or something?) and the cop turns out to be a Sentinel!!!!! Which basically means he has superhuman senses - all of his senses are way more sensitive than humans, so he can see farther, hear better, yada yada. And the anthropologist is his Guide - which basically means, he’s the only one who can make sure that the Sentinel dude doesn’t go overboard on his senses - ie. if he focuses too hard in on something, he can zone, which means he goes kind of catatonic. When a Sentinel does that, that’s not good and they need a Guide to… er… guide them out of it. The fic I’ve read isn’t clear on whether in the show the Sentinel-Guide relationship is super like ~soulmate-y, aka ONE sentinel has ONE guide and when they find each other they’re PERFECT TOGETHER, but obviously there is lots of slash fic of the two of them (Jim/Blair) because that kind of dynamic just begs for it either way.
The thing about most Sentinel AU fic for other fandoms that’s out there is that it’s fusion fic, which means it just takes the idea of a Sentinel/Guide pairing and applies it however they want, in whatever universe they want. My favorite Sentinel AUs have been in like super militarized universes, where Sentinels are property of the government and Guides are matched and regulated and registered and shit - kind of dystopic, but like, a Sentinel finds THEIR Guide, and they’re ~MEANT TO BE and ~SOULMATE SHIT WHATEVER and I just like that a lotttttt.
So my Sentinel fic will be a wholeeee new universe for Nagron - mostly because I want to play with the whole Roman/Rebels dynamic in a modern setting, using Sentinels as a parallel for Gladiators almost? I dunno, I’m still working out the kinks.
